Natural stone is still the most revered traditional component for memorials and Forever Cemeteries and Funeral Homes has selected Polycor's products for its buildings and monuments.
To date Polycor has supplied approximately 25,000 sq. ft. of stone for each of Forever's mausoleum projects. Approximately 8,000 to 10,000 sq. ft. of this is White Cherokee for the exterior, including the crypt fronts and veneer. |
Forever Cemeteries and Funeral Homes is a visionary, state-of-the-art organization that offers a number of beautifully enhanced, idyllic resting places throughout the nation. Only the highest quality building materials are specified for the many structures at Forever's locations. These include everlasting, appropriate materials selected, in part, to convey tribute relative to the memory of those held so dear. Natural stone, the most ancient of materials and the most revered traditional component used for memorials, was selected in great quantity by Forever.
Georgia Marble, for years the world's most widely selected crystalline marble for monuments, mausoleums, and memorial sculpture, was Forever's logical choice of stone. A strong "partnership" between the two companies, Forever Cemeteries and Funeral Homes and Polycor Inc.'s Georgia Marble seemed natural. Forever needed the finest, time-tested stone material and Quebec-based Polycor Georgia Marble had the experience and the capability to provide it.
"We specifically want the look and feel of our mausoleums-and our funeral/cemetery businesses-to be open, light, and updated, but timeless," said Mike Butler of Forever. "Quite often, we walk into mausoleums that are old, damp, dank, and have the feel of 'a time long ago.' We like our spaces to be very inviting to the public to come for memorialization services, to visit loved ones, or to use our Forever LifeStory consoles, which are like a publicly accessible archive for the families in the community. These buildings are designed to be functional for many, many generations," Butler continued.
Forever Enterprises is the umbrella organization, under which consists a family of companies including innovative cemeteries, funeral homes, and LifeStory production studios across the country. These studios produce actual movies made from home video clips, photographs, written and spoken words, and other mementos, which ultimately are ready-to-be-viewed alongside an individual's resting place.
Polycore kept this high-tech aspect in mind when delivering the classic stone for Forever's many structures. To date, the company has supplied approximately 25,000 sq. ft. of stone for each mausoleum project. Approximately 8,000 to 10,000 sq. ft. of this is White Cherokee for the exterior, including the crypt fronts and veneer. White Cherokee is distinguished by a vibrant sparkle that permeates the stone's crystalline structure.
Polycor Georgia Marble also supplied the stone for the interior of Forever's mausoleum designs. "The firm actually has a staff of in-house architects who not only come up with outstanding building ideas, but are also very proactive relative to the specification of the stone," said David King, Polycor's product director. "For the interior plans, we worked with these architects who ultimately selected Botticino marble to clad the crypt fronts and niche. The flooring also was specified in Botticino along with Calacatta and Verde Alpi marbles."
